Class two of a four part series presented by Rob Malone, owner of The Turntable restaurant. Our August Cooking Class will focus on Cooking Methods & Heat Control.

Understanding heat, pan control, and core techniques like sautéing and boiling.

  • Recap + Intro: Review knife skills, intro to heat types, and cookware.
  • Demo: Sautéing vegetables, boiling pasta, steaming broccoli.
  • Practice:
    • Sauté onions and garlic
    • Boil pasta or rice
    • Steam or blanch a green veggie
  • Wrap-up: Q&A, how to avoid over-/under-cooking.

Take-Home Exercise: Cook a simple stir-fry using prepped vegetables and protein.
